Project RISE gives children with an incarcerated parent or family member an opportunity to attend the Village Camp program for FREE! The program includes nature arts and crafts, a community project and leadership development component for older campers and teens. At Camp Earth Connection we recognize that the best way to tackle some of life’s hardest challenges is TOGETHER! And we also think spending time in nature can help too. This summer we will begin to build a village community that will nurture trusting relationships amongst youth with similar life experiences, provide guidance and mentorship across generations, and offer a community for children and families to heal.
From poetry to yoga to animal tracking or cooking a meal of wild edibles & camp grown garden vegetables, our professional and diverse staff will engage children and teens in activities that foster environmental awareness, social and emotional well being and create community. On Thursday night families have the chance to share a meal, attend a campfire celebration and camp out.
Camp Earth Connection is located 12 miles east of Ithaca adjacent to the Hammond Hill State Forest. Transportation will be provided from Ithaca to the camp. Projcet RISE scholarships are available to youth aged 6 to 14 with Counselor-In-Training program available for 13-16 year olds.
Donations to Project RISE (Village Camp Scholarship Fund)
Donations to Project RISE can be made in two ways. If you would like to make a donation to Camp Earth Connection you can pay through paypal below or make a check payable to “Earth Connection” and in the memo area of your check please write “Village Camp Fund: RISE.” Mail check to Earth Connection, 63 Hammond Hill Rd, Freeville, NY 13068. Although we also use 100% of these funds for scholarships, they are not tax-deductible.
If you would like to make a Tax Deductible donation, you will need to make a check or money order payable to “Greater Ithaca Activities Center” and in the memo area of your check please write “Village Camp Fund: RISE.” Please mail check to: Earth Connection, 63 Hammond Hill Rd., Freeville, NY 13068
