Coming out with Camp Earth Connection

Well, now it becomes obvious, of why it is so important to say what I need to say. I am the owner and caretaker of the land that Camp Earth Connection lives on. I was born female, and am a member of the LGBTQ+ community. I am the parent of 7 adult children and 10 grandchildren. We are a “racially” diverse family. I also have been living sober and drug free for over 42 years. I am committed to doing my best to make CEC a safe haven for all our guests, especially those who identify with groups who are being oppressed by our society, institutions and country, and those who are in recovery from addiction.

I speak for myself and for Camp Earth Connection when I say, what is happening in our country today is NOT ok. And more importantly, it has never been okay. Racism, classism, sexism, ableism, and all forms of oppression have been institutionalized and are integrated in our schools, our churches, our communities, our universities and our government, and we, the people, have a heck of a lot of work to do, if we want to change that.

With that said, if you are a respectful, kind and caring person who is open to growing and learning and welcomes and celebrates diversity and community; if you are a person who can spend some time on this beautiful land at CEC without smoking, using drugs, and/or drinking alcoholic beverages; Then you are welcome here. Join us and celebrate diversity, the outdoors, and this beautiful planet we live on.

With Peace and Gratitude,

Eshay and Druid
